about

We belong to space. As Martin Heidegger pointed out, our ontology presumes embeddedness and inseparability from the world. Once we corrupt our relationship with the land and community, the end result is meaningless death. The chatter of war and politics lead us astray from recognizing our relationship with time: that we can look ahead to our future and our eventual death. For this reason, death becomes meaningless.

Judith Butler, in an interview, gave a salient advice: "we are worldless without each other."Perhaps the lesson of the Korean War is to live with each other —to recognize that we belong to the same land. To escape the chatter of politics and to look ahead to our future and eventual death. Only then, do I believe we shall attain peace.

lyrics

Waist-high grass, sun glares hot, cicadas droning loud.
형 동생, the two brothers are playing in the field.
Shouts turn to screams, family turns to foe.
Blood boils hot with no end.

Little did they know the danger
Drawn closer in by their endless arguments
호랑이 한 마리 저기서 온다
피를 원한다

The tiger wants the blood
The brothers and their blood
Yet, they're fighting each other... the stupid brothers
They're building a fence, a great, giant fence.
But, it's not for the tiger. It's for each other.

Where are the rains to wash away the blood?
Rain, rain, rain, wash away the blood.

The tiger wants the blood
The brothers and their blood
The tiger wants the blood
The brothers and their blood

The same last name, the same mother under a single roof.
When it rains, it pours down on all of our heads.
Yet, shouts turn to screams, family turns to foe.
Blood boils hot with no end.
